Raj Kapoor Centenary Celebration – Singapore Event
As part of the global Raj Kapoor Centenary Celebration, Respect India is proud to present a special cultural event in Singapore, commemorating 100 years since the birth of the legendary Indian filmmaker Shri Raj Kapoor. A visionary artist and cultural icon, Raj Kapoor’s films have left an enduring legacy that transcends borders, languages, and generations.
Singapore has been thoughtfully chosen for this celebration due to its dynamic multicultural landscape, its deep engagement with global cinema, and its strong and vibrant Indian diaspora. The city-state’s appreciation for Indian art, music, and cinema makes it an ideal location to pay tribute to Raj Kapoor, whose timeless works continue to inspire audiences and creatives alike.
The event will feature a thoughtfully curated program, including cinematic retrospectives of Raj Kapoor’s landmark films, exhibitions of rare archival photographs and personal memorabilia, panel discussions with scholars and film experts, and live performances that bring to life the music and spirit of his cinematic journey.
Led by the Chairmanship of Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, along with Shri Manoj Tiwari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, and celebrated filmmaker Shri Rahul Rawail as Vice Chairmen, the Singapore edition of the centenary celebration aims to foster cross-cultural appreciation, honor the legacy of a cinematic legend, and strengthen the cultural bridge between India and Southeast Asia.
This event aspires to be more than just a tribute—it is a celebration of shared stories, values, and the universal language of film that continues to connect people across the world.
